Stampin' Splurge - Come and Stamp With Me !!

I am in the midst of putting together my classes for fall, and was wondering if YOU would like to join?  See how many qualifications you meet :

  1. Do you like stamping / scrapbooking and learning new techniques?
  2. Could you use a night for yourself once a month?
  3. Would you need it to be out of your home?
  4. Are you in the Saskatoon area?
  5. How would you like to receive FREE product without any work for you at all?

If you answered "YES" to any one of these questions, my Stampin' Splurge is for YOU!  You would be in a class of only 8 or 10 ladies, all with the same passion as you - to stamp and have fun doing it.  The expense is only $20 a month, less than a coffee a day, and you get to take projects home out of the deal.  I teach the classes IN MY HOME, so you never have to clean up your house for the workshop.  This also means you get to use what is in my craft room - it is too hard to take it all with me to your place.

Being in the Splurge also GUARANTEES that you have a qualifying show when it is your turn to be the hostess.  If you do choose, you can have a show in your home prior, to combine them for even more free product.  Go to my Stampin' Up! site, and contact me through there!!

ETA : The 8 class is full, and only a few spots remain in the 10 class, so act now!!

A Ruby Tiara

JRB ruby tiara I think this stamp set (Little Tees - GinaK) is a fun way to change your shirt every card you make.  Today, I wanted to be *princess*.  To me princess' are all glam and shimmer, so I decided to dress up my Basic Grey Gypsy DP.  All That Scraps got some new product in called Shimmerz, and I used Angel Wings on this card.  All the bigger flowers got some painted on, and then I let it dry (took about 2 minutes).

JRB tiara shimmerz close  Here is a close up shot, so you can really see how shimmery it is.  Now you can make your own glittery DP out out whatever you happen to have on hand!  How cool is that ?!?

I stamped the shirt on another piece of CS in the pack, added the sentiment and cut it out.  I colored the collar and sleeves with my ruby red marker, and added the gem to the crown.  The base is black and I used 1/4 black CS circles for under my brads.  I really find that black makes colors really POP.  So, I tied on the black grosgrain and attached the t-shirt with dimensionals.  I didn't embellish to much, cause I didn't want to cover it up.  I wish you could see how shimmery this card is, it is so purty.  Have fun and happy stamping!!

I'm In Shock

I got another award for my blog - thanks to Elizabeth.  Now the reason I am in shock, this is not just any Elizabeth, it is the Elzybells Elizabeth, herself!!!  Want to know which award she gave me??

Heart blog  I am seriously on Cloud 9 over here.  She is such a super star, I didn't even know she read my blog!!  Thanks for making my day!

I am supposed to nominate 7 others for this award, so I am going to try to do it randomly:

  1. Dawn Easton - A fellow Canadian and now a Dirty Girl!!
  2. Kelly Lunceford - I like her simple WOW cards.
  3. Anna Wight - When I grow up, I want to color like her!!
  4. JanTink - She makes me laugh, and is a fellow Control Freak.
  5. Becca Feeken - Amazing beauty and elegance.
  6. Sharon Johnson - She has a way of making magic in minutes.
  7. Ana Wohlfhart - She uses amazing color in her works of art!

I tried to nominate people that did not have this award yet, AND I tried to pick ones that I had never picked before.  This way you get to see more of the blogs that I check out.

Julie's Color Concoction #21

JRB JCC21 memory I don't have to give away my card from JCC20, 'cause no one played along.

But, I am going to post another one.  The colors for JCC21 are :

  1. not quite navy
  2. baja breeze (New In Color)
  3. garden green

For some reason, I just love blue roses.  Not just on paper, but actual blue roses.  I myself, have only seen the dyed ones, but in 2004 they finally developed a rose that will bloom true blue.  I can only imagine the cost of having one in my home, so I will stamp mine.

The base is NQN, and the bottom corners were rounded.  I added this lovely satin ribbon (it was around a housecoat I bought), since it just seemed to go so nicely.  I ran the baja through the Cuttlebug with the textile embossing folder and then again with the largest scallop rectangle nestie. This was added to the card with dimensionals.

I stamped the rose on white (SU Roses in Winter - retired), by inking the largest one in baja and rolling the edges in NQN.  I stamped it off before putting it on the CS.  I inked the next stamp the same way, but did not stamp it off first.  Then the final stamp was NQN stamped off.  I masked the rose and added the sprigs with garden green, and added the sentiment in NQN.  I rounded the corners of the white and NQN CS and matted them together.  I then added the 3 silver brads and attached it to the card with dimensionals.  I used my 1/4 circle punch with baja CS to get the circles on the base, and added the silver brads on top.

Hope you can play along, you could get this card.  When you upload your card to SCS, use the keyword JCC21, or link it here from your blog.  I will be posting the winner next Saturday.  Be sure to use these colors (or a close substitute), have fun and happy stamping!!

Sorry :(

I'm apologizing for the lack of posts.  I am a bit tired from swimming lessons, after being in the city from 9-4 everyday this past week.  I don't know how GinaK does it with her girls (kudos to her ), but maybe it works better if they are not 4 and 5 ... LOL.  I also have a lot of stuff that I can't show you yet, but I am really excited about.  I have got my hands on some new ATS product, put in a Stampin' Up! order of about $600 (I have been saving for this catalog!!), and also have new stamp sets that I need to make samples with.  So don't worry, that daily fix for you is not going anywhere !

Just in case this is a new site to you, there is lots for you to catch up on.  And, if you have been around awhile, I'll bet there is something you've missed.  Check out my TUTORIALS (I have more than 50 project ideas!!) or my COLOR CONCOCTIONS.  Maybe you need a SKETCH to get you inspired.  If you want to find them anytime, I have them all linked on the right hand side under All In One Spot.

I also have a search feature, so if you can't remember which post something was on, type into the box, and it will give you all the options!  This is also in the right column with a purple box.  So till my next post, which we all know won't be far away *wink*, have fun and happy blurfing!!

"A" is for Apple

It is soon time to send the eldest child of my bosom to school - WOOHOO!  I decided to make the teacher a thank you gift...hehehe.  Seriously, I am excited for him to go to school, but I am going to miss him.

JRB apple box  How cool is this?  I found a wooden open top box at my local $1 store and thought it would make a great pencil holder.  I bought some red acrylic paint, painted it up, and then let it dry overnight.

I went to a LSS (Yesterday's Memories for those in Saskatoon), and picked up some undressed Basic Grey chipboard letters.  Bonus for me, is that they were self adhesive!!

I came home, and took out the "a".  I laid it on scrap paper and proceeded to smoosh (technical term) my stazon black ink onto it.  I used my black Sharpie to go along the edges, and stamped on it with white craft ink.  I wanted it have a chalkboard effect.  It was the School Background from High Hopes.

I punched the stars and added gold brads, because EVERY teacher I know gives out gold stars!  My torn loose leaf is actually CS that I created.  Here's how :

JRB cuttlebug stamp block  I took the Big Ol' Backgrounds Stripes from All That Scraps, and inked it up with ballet blue.  I stamped it on white CS, and added the vertical strip with my pixie pink SU marker.  It isn't exactly perfect paper, but it sure is close!  I then stamped the High Hopes BG again on it in sahara sand, to look like doodles, and then wrote the word apple.  I punched the edge with my spiral punch (SU), and then tore and crumpled it up.  Little idea for ya .  I didn't have an acrylic block big enough for my BG stamp, so I used a Cuttlebug plate.

JRB apple top Everything except the "a" was added with the red-line dimensionals that I got from Jody.  I tore the "leaves", and cut hand cut the "stem".  I added veins with my bone folder, so they would look more realistic.

I hope this makes up for my post yesterday!!  I think it turned out really cute, and it is also useful.  So when everyone brings an apple to the teacher on the first day, this is one she can keep.  Have fun and happy stamping!!

P.S. - Yes, Marg, you are getting one too...hehehe.

Seriously - I shoulda put this in the circular file!

JRB hydrangea tag But, I couldn't because that hydrangea has over 100 flowers glued to it to make the one!  And I hand stitched the vellum on it - remind me to buy a machine.

I mean it isn't the worst card I ever made(I hope), but I maybe shoulda given up after the first hour...hehehe.

The hydrangea instructions are in The Paper Garden book over at All That Scraps.  I have most of the punches now, and am having fun putting together some beautiful flowers.  OH MY GOSH - you should see the roses!  One day soon, I hope to show you something cool, but that is taking longer than this card *roll eyes*.

The CS I used was handsome hunter, bordering blue, ballet blue, certainly celery and gable green.

Messy Desk

JRB disaster

Do you like my messy desk ?  It was not doctored at all for this photo, and it will probably not be cleaned up for awhile either.  The boys have swimming lessons twice a day this week, so I am gone from 9:15am to 4:00pm everyday.  I FINALLY got my book today, and have been scouring the pages planning my pre-order.  The spine is already cut off, so I can get it bound in between the lessons.  I cut it off with my SU table top cutter - NOT all at once.  I peel the pages off the spine bit my bit and then cut it after.  Cuts the cost off the binding and only takes about 5 minutes to do.

I'll let you know what my order is going to be later, so make sure you have some time on your hands.  It may take awhile to read through *wink, wink*.
