Couple of Cards !!

Since I missed posting yesterday, I thought I'd give you a two'fer!

This card is made by stamping the tree with versamark, embossing it with heat and stick powder and then dumping on the dazzling diamonds.  This card is STUNNING in real life.  The colors are elegant eggplant, almost amethyst and sahara sand.

This one is the same as the red/gold snowflake card, but in blue and silver.  The embellishment is the scallop circle, 2 snowflakes and 2 different blooms from the boho blossom punch.  They are all held together with a jumbo brad.  I even stamped the sentiment in  the same ink, but I don't think it is dark enough.  Oh well, still pretty *big grin*.  Have fun and happy stamping!!

Jayden's Results

First - Thanks for all the prayers.  They were definitely felt during the waiting period of almost 3 weeks !!  The only thing that I do know for sure is that he has bronchitis.  All his other blood work came back negative, so no "C" word or anything else for that matter.  They do not know why his lymph nodes on the one side of his neck are so big, but they don't want me to get too concerned unless they grow bigger.

Second - when it rains, it seems to pour.  Dylan has been having headaches for about a year, and they have progressively gotten worse.  He is now getting migraines and his eyes are swelling.  He is being referred to a Pediatric Neurologist and needs to have a Cat Scan and MRI done.  When he is fine, he is his normal self, but the last time he had a migraine, he was done for a week.  I do know the signs for him, so I will keep him medicated, so it doesn't get so bad.  Please pray that this does not turn out to be a lifelong battle for him.  He is only 6, and it is rare for them to have migraines so young, but it does happen.

I honestly HATE typing the bad stuff that happens on this side of the screen, but sometimes, the prayers are needed help to get me through.  Thanks again, and may God touch each one of you in a special way today!

Sparkly Turquoise Tree

  ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS !!

I love the way this card turned out, understated and elegant with a little bit of flair.  If you click on the picture, you can see more of how sparkly that pine from Lovely As A Tree (115026) really is. 

This was one of the cards we made for my Stampin' Splurge on Tuesday, and the girls ladies LOVED them. 

We used the Fine Cosmo(108796) and Galaxy(114286) SU glitter, and some used the Dazzling Diamonds.  I can hardly wait to do it again tonight with my other class!!

And they will get the full Christmas treatment today ...

  I am totally  ♥LOVING♥  the fact that purple is so in season right now.  Isn't it fantastic when your favorite color happens t be dominant in fashion and decor ?!?

This year sent me to the store, so I could totally revamp my tree.  All new ornaments for this baby, and she is dripping in purple and gold!!  I even got a fancy new tree skirt, gold wrapping paper, and all I have to get now is the purple ribbon for the packages.

Golden Snow Shimmer

I bought the Shimmer Paints from Stampin' Up! and have been working with them this past week.  They are FANTASTIC !!  Did you know they are an ink, and you can STAMP with them ?!?  So, I did ...

   I really like how it turned out.  The snowflakes on the red CS are stamped with the Champagne Mist ink.  It makes for an elegant card.

The base is brushed gold CS with real red.  I used the Eyelet Border punch and embossed the sentiment (Four The Season) with white.

I could not, FOR THE LIFE OF ME, find my Snowflakes Sizzlits so I pulled out my new Spellbinders Snowflakes Dies.

  I cut out the snowflake from white CS and then sponged some of the champagne ink onto it.  Then I used the Stampin' Up! snowflake punch and the boho blossom punch to finish off the embellishment.  It is all held together with a white jumbo brad and attached with dimensionals.  Click on the picture for a closer view.  Have fun and happy stamping!!

BAB Sign - 2nd Post Today !!

I am the Children's Church Director at our church.  Since we just moved to a new building, I wanted to do something special for our brand new room.  I also wanted it to be a room that the kids would see the sign and WANT to come.  It is also a Sunday school room, so I couldn't paint anything spectacular.  The kids that come are ages 3 - 5, so it didn't have to be complicated.

I used my Build-A-Bear dies, and the Serif Essentials dies to add the letters for the banner.  I took textured white 12 X 12 CS and cut it in half.  Then I pieced it together in the center to make 24 X 6 inch banner for my project.  I used patterned paper to dress my little guys.  I hope the kids like it, and it makes it a little more special for them.

I think this would make a great sign for a kid's bedroom, or to make a name frame, for hanging on their wall.  Have fun and happy stamping!!

 

Women's Journey Of Faith

Wow, what an UNBELIEVABLY PHENOMENAL day I had yesterday!!  A wonderful lady here in Saskatoon started a conference for women to come together and be refreshed and blessed by God.  Yesterday was the 10th anniversary of  Women's Journey Of Faith.  I worshiped, laughed and learned about our Flawless God who loves us, flawed though we are. 

Here we are singing and giving worship to our amazing God.

Our speaker was Liz Curtis Higgs, a remarkable author.  If you EVAH have a chance to hear her speak - RUN TO GET TICKETS!!  She was so funny, but straight to the matters of  women's heart.  I was bent over laughing and then crying 2 seconds later.  She definitely is doing what God has called her to, both in writing and speaking.  She is my friend on FaceBook *big grin*.

Women's Journey of Faith is going to be in Calgary for the first time on November 14.  Hurry and get your tickets, it is worth your buck to be recharged and revived.

 
 

All That Scraps Review Preview

I got a phone call from my sister.  It seems her little girl got into her makeup, her blush was in 5 million pieces, and her lipstick was almost gone.  So, when I was coloring my image, I thought of her and had to make this card.

  Her cheeky grin and the way she is trying to look so innocent, makes me smile.  I colored her with Copics, and added the extra "makeup" to her little face.  This image is from the Chubby Pencil Line.

Treat Box Tutorial - Now On Video!

Here is a finished box to feast your eyes on.  I think it looks nice with the ornament on the front, a little added Christmas for the front.

RockStar Birthday !!

Here is one of the other ideas I was playing with.  It turned out pretty good, I think, but I will switch the dark and light sponging next time.

I stamped the image (Extreme Guitar) with versamark on white, and then embossed it clear EP.  Then, I positioned some post-it notes to sponge the different colors of inks, pale plum and pretty in pink.  I was trying to portray the spot lights that are on stage.

I punched some stars to be the embellishments and covered the one with stickles.  I added some brads, and tied the ribbon, though the image panel.  I wanted to try this image for a girl card (my niece's birthday is next week), but using blue, green and embossing in black would make a great guy card.  Have fun and happy stamping!!

Email Problems

I have been getting a lot of emails lately with folks not being able to open the emails that they receive.  I have gone through and deleted a whole bunch of subscriptions that were expired.  Yes, your subscriptions can expire if you don't click through all the time.

I have not changed anything, though, so I am not sure what to do to fix it.  You could try un-subscribing and then renewing it.  I have noticed that the subscriptions have been dropping,so I assume it is due to this problem.

I did try changing some settings, and I hope it helps, but all I can think of is re-subscribing.  Stay tuned, a card will be posted soon.
